JIM PANGBURN

JIM PANGBURN

A graduate of Bucknell University, Mr. Pangburn is in his 17th year as a Licensed Battlefield Guide at the Gettysburg National Military Park.  He has been the past 13 years as a full-time guide, in which time he has performed nearly 4,000 tours of various types and lengths.  He has been a serious student of the American Civil War and the Gettysburg Campaign for nearly 25 years.

Mr. Pangburn has served as the historical narrator for Gettysburg's annual Civil War reenactment for the last 12 years.  He also narrated Antietam's 150th Anniversary reeenactment in 2012, and the Greencastle, Pennsylvania's commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of the beginning of the American Civil War in the Spring of 2011.

A Pennsylvania resident since 1967, he has lived in South-central Pennsylvania for 13 years, including six-and-a-half years in Gettysburg.

In addition to teaching test-prep classes for the Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides, Mr. Pangburn participated in the Association's Evening Summer Walking Tours program and performed tours for the Gettysburg Foundation's Spring Muster.  A member of the ALBG's Executive Committee, he currently serves on the Association's Guide Centennial Committee, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the nation's oldest professional guide service.
